As we mentioned in our earlier post "5 Bucks Is Change - NCDevCon Official Charities",  NCDevCon has teamed up with 5 Bucks Is Change in order to 'pay it forward' and help support a few local charities.

Our first supported charity is Conservator’s Center Inc.

The Conservator’s Center is a non-profit organization that preserves threatened species through rescuing wildlife in need, responsible captive breeding, and providing educational programs and support worldwide.  CCI is home to over 100 animals (of which 21 are lions and 11 are tigers).  The facility is sustained by private donations and tours.

CCI’s exciting news for 2010 is that The Governor’s Club of Chapel Hill is generously donating their existing office building to CCI as soon as their new building is completed.  The donated building is over 3000 square feet, more than twice the size of CCI’s current house/office. CCI now has the amazing opportunity to have a beautiful building to not only house all of their staff and office needs, but to provide volunteer space, a full-sized classroom, a gift shop, kitchen and bathrooms for the cost of relocation and setup (estimated at $65,000).

"5 Bucks is Change" will be helping promote the CCI annual gala on June 12, 2010 at Burning Coal Theater in downtown Raleigh.  Mark it on your calendar!  This year’s gala will include a live auction of some amazing items as well as a silent auction, live music, and excellent food and drink.
